lets say the goal is to get to 25 rejections as soon as possible so i can take my writing out back and shoot it in the head and never have to submit stuff to anything anywhere again cause i gave it ye ol college try.
the constraint for me has to be that the stories i submit for rejection are, to the BESTEST of my ability, complete [ie plot, writing, editing]. only a total rejection of my good work will count towards the 25.
writing plan:
-
i aggregated all the phone written notes, voice notes, emails to self etc that i could find. i have about 87 short story ideas in different stages of development with about a dozen of them over 4k words [the rest ranging from a few sentences to a few thousand words+plot].
-
i hate this.
-
writing is the worst
-
i think im going to plot out scenes and write with a very specific goal in mind for every session [ie get character from point a to b].
-
im not ready. i have not read the earthsea trilogy, i have ted chiang stuff still left to read, i havent finished the 3 body problem series. i also need to brush up on theory in everything. that's not going to happen tho so i have to write for rejection with whatevr i've got so far.
-
will deadlines help? idk. lets experiment with a few things- write while watching tv, write to a deadline, write by hand etc.
-
i could quit. the world is on fire anyway?
